Mayor’s Youth Summit ACTION GROUPS Starting January 15 & 16

Teens and adults are invited and encouraged to join action groups based on the October 2012 Newton Youth Summit I. The action groups are an opportunity for all to express their opinions and to push forward on coming up with solutions to be discussed at Youth Summit II. Participation in these action groups is a great opportunity to have a positive impact on the well-being of youth in our city. The action groups are covering two pressing topics that came out of the discussion at Youth Summit I. Join one group or both!

  • ACADEMIC STRESS & TIME MANAGEMENT ACTION GROUP – Tuesday, January 15 at 5:30PM, John M. Barry Boys & Girls Club (upstairs boardroom), 675 Watertown Street, Newton
  • YOUTH & ADULT CONVERSATION/COLLABORATION ACTION GROUP – Thursday, January 17 at 5:30PM, West Suburban YMCA (wellness room), 276 Church Street, Newton

For more information call Youth Services Director, Jenny O’Leary 617-796-1436 or email joleary@newtonma.gov Hope to see you at one or both of these meetings! On March 20, 2013, Mayor Warren will host Youth Summit II from 6-9pm in the Brown Middle School Auditorium. The Youth Summits bring parents, teens and community members together to understand the challenges facing our teens, to provide an opportunity for teens to express their experiences, and to coalesce as a community to support teens.
