SouthFest Needs Your Support – Financial & Volunteers

SouthFest is Newton South’s after-prom event. This year, it will be held Wednesday, June 5 from 12AM – 4AM immediately after the prom. Our goal is to provide a safe and fun post-prom experience for seniors and their dates. As an alternative to house parties, we provide a senior-parent-free environment with fun, games, music and food. Hopefully, senior parents can sleep better that night! There is a police detail onsite, non-senior parent chaperones and free taxi service to anywhere in Newton. In our fifteen years of running SouthFest there has never been a serious prom night accident or injury to a Newton South senior or date.

Though you might not have a senior this year, you will soon. We need your help to continue this tradition of safety! There are many ways to help us create this spectacle, from volunteering to create decorations, setting up at the school the day of the event, donating food and more. We are especially in need of funding assistance. We are behind in our donations and may have to eliminate parts of the event. Less event excitement means less senior participation. We don’t want that to happen.

Any financial donation is important, helping us to keep seniors off the road and safe. We have two ways to donate: personal check and directly via Paypal. Even small donations are critical and help enormously.
For details, donation links, volunteer forms, pictures from previous years and more, please visit the SouthFest website at Thank you for your support. With your help we can make this another safe and fun after-prom.
