These Shining Lives, by Melanie Marnich chronicles the strength and determination of women considered expendable. It explores the true story of their employment at the Radium Dial company in the 1920’s, which cared more about profits than their employee’s safety. Catherine and her friends are dying, it’s true; but theirs is a story of survival in its most transcendent sense, as they refuse to allow the company that stole their health to kill their spirits—or endanger the lives of those who come after them. Oct. 31, Nov. 1, 2, and 3, 2013, at 7:30PM, Performing Arts Center, Newton North High School, 457 Walnut Street, Newtonville. Tickets $7.00 at http://theatreink.net, or Adam_Brown@Newton.k12.ma.us, 617-559-6306.
