We are making a final push for enrollment in our Language, Service and Cultural Program to Peru this February, and want to make sure all our families are aware of this extraordinary opportunity!
For two and a half weeks (including the February vacation), students at all levels in Spanish have the opportunity to live with host families in the city of Cuzco, where they spend the morning in classes of just three to five students (they are assessed and grouped accordingly), and the afternoons volunteering with children in orphanages. There are multiple excursions with the group, including overnight visits to Lima, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. This amazing program has been entirely fashioned by Newton South faculty, who accompany our students on this journey.
If you are interested in this program, please contact Spanish teachers Maureen Maher or Viviana Planine as soon as possible. We need a total of a dozen students to make this opportunity viable, and will need to act quickly.
Global Education Leadership Fund scholarships are available for students who qualify, and applications are available by clicking here.
Thank you for considering this opportunity. It is one of those rich experiences that makes Newton such a special place.
