Contribute to Success@South Fundraising Campaign 2013

I am very excited to announce the launch of a new PTSO initiative: Success@South, our targeted fundraising campaign. Our inaugural initiative will be the Library Renovation Project. With your help, we will build a 100 foot-long technology counter in the library, reclaiming unused shelving near the beautiful windows overlooking the courtyard. With this remodel, students will have a new space to engage in thoughtful research and collaboration with modern tools. Our goal is to transform the outdated, over-crowded library into a flexible learning space to better facilitate inquiry, synergy and the communication of ideas – but we need your help.

Did you know that the daily traffic in the Newton South library exceeds the entire population of the school? Reconfiguring and updating the space will impact the daily learning environment for the entire student body. Contributions made before December 31 will help us to complete this project during April vacation. In other words, the money we raise now will be used to benefit all students this year. Save the date: We will also be having a Community Dinner on Saturday, February 1, to raise funds and – more importantly – to come together as a community for night of food and fun. More details on the Community Dinner will come after December break.
