Senior Captain Kaela Meyer competed on February 2 in the Senior Superbowl meet, which serves as a qualifying meet to the Massachusetts High School Senior National team, which will compete this May in Ft. Myers Beach, FL. Her highlights included scoring 9.2s on both vault and floor and tallying a 35.8 AA on the day. She received a Cleanest Routine award from the judges and got a mention in the Boston Herald.
According to coach Greg Beaupre, “Kaela is a strong student. She has recently been accepted to and plans to attend the University of Michigan in the fall. In terms of leadership, Kaela’s best quality is her competitive drive. She is very consistent and determined in competition. She is also an athlete that I can put on any of the 4 events for a strong score.”
The team just finished the regular season at 13-0. They are the DCL/MVC Champions. They last competed Tuesday at our league meet placing 1st out of the 12 teams in the DCL/MVC. The next 2 meets will be the State Individual Championships on Saturday February 15 at 9:00AM at Algonquin Regional High School in Northborough, MA and then the MIAA North Team Sectionals on Saturday February 22 at 10:00AM at Hudson High School. The North Team Sectionals will involve the top 12 teams in the North, based on season scoring averages, competing for a spot in the State Team finals. The top 4 from that meet will advance.
