This Year’s Deadlines for Adding and Dropping of Courses

All course drops and adds must be approved by the appropriate department head. The following guidelines apply for student-initiated course changes:

Term 1 Drop Deadline for Grades 10, 11, 12
3 weeks after end of Term 1: Monday, November 24, 2014
or mid-point of the first term for a semester course: October 4, 2014
Final Grade Post Deadline: W [see below]

Term 1 Drop Deadline for Grade 9
Midpoint of Term 2: Friday, December 5, 2014
or end of the first term for a semester course
Final Grade Post Deadline: W

Term 2 Drop Deadline for Grades 10, 11, 12
1 week before the end of Term 2: Friday, January 9, 2015
or end of the first term for a semester course
Final Grade Post Deadline: WF [see below]

Term 2 Drop Deadline for Grade 9
Midpoint of Term 3: Friday, February 27, 2015
or 3 weeks after end of first term for a semester course
Final Grade Post Deadline: WF

Students may initiate drops up to and including the first deadline above without having a final grade recorded on report card or transcript. Students are reminded that all final grades are included on the students’ report cards and transcripts. A grade of WF is defined as “Failure due to withdraw from course after deadline set by school.” For GPA computation, a WF counts as a 0 and a W carries no weight.

Please note: If a student withdraws from a course after report cards or transcripts have been sent to colleges, updated reports will be sent to those colleges. Students are advised to contact colleges regarding course changes before the reports are sent.

Department heads determine deadlines that they consider appropriate for adding courses in their departments.
