According to Meg Lloyd, Girls Hockey Coach, “Sonja Klumpp and Morgan Woods have been huge contributors on the Newton South/Brookline Warrior Lion ice hockey team. Morgan has anchored the team in net all season, making more than 20 saves in each game. She battles hard and makes everyone work to their potential on and off the ice. Sonja has worked to create a happy and healthy team environment. She works hard every time she steps on the ice, pushing herself and her team to get stronger and better all the time. Sonja competes in each and every game, working to break the puck cleanly out of the zone, powering through the neutral zone, and shooting each chance she gets. As a captain, she is able to talk about what improvements need to be made in between periods of games, in situational drills in practice, and in the locker room. These two seniors have led the team to a well fought season, and their team mates have been lucky to get to work with them this year.”
