With March (and hopefully spring) upon us, MCAS testing for our 9th and 10th grade students will soon be underway. I want to take this opportunity to inform you of some important changes to our MCAS scheduling:
March 24th, 25th and 26th – English Language Arts MCAS Testing
Sophomores will be participating in English Composition and Reading Comprehension MCAS testing sessions on these mornings. Freshmen, juniors and seniors will have a late school start. The special schedule for these days is found here. Please note that the buses will run their route twice – once at the regular time for 7:40 start, and a second time beginning as noted on the special schedule.
During this morning MCAS time, we also have the opportunity to provide special sessions for some freshmen, junior and senior students aimed at providing further preparation for upcoming AP exams and rehearsal time for the MICCA festival. The special session schedule is posted here.
Change of dates for Mathematics and Science MCAS Testing
Due to the snow days, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has provided alternate administration dates for these MCAS tests. The new dates are as follows:
- Grade 10 Mathematics Session 1: May 19th
- Grade 10 Mathematics Session 2: May 20th
- High School STE (9th Grade Science) Session 1: June 8th
- High School STE (9th Grade Science) Session 2: June 9th
Special schedules for these dates are forthcoming, but will include a late school start for students who are not testing in the morning sessions.
