Girls Gymnastics won the Dual County League title on Saturday afternoon at MIT. Senior Kalena Wang broke the school record for an all-around score. She was named DCL Gymnast of the Year. Wang’s 37.6 broke the Newton South all-around record previously held by Camila Hernandez. She won the bars at 9.55, won the beam at 9.3, was second on the floor at 9.5, and was third on the vault at 9.2. Freshman Julie Schoen was second in the league with an all-around score of 37.1. She broke Hernandez’s school record in the floor exercise with a score of 9.65 and won the vault with a score of 9.5. She was third on the bars at 9.05 and third on the beam at 8.9. Senior Alexa Rhynd finished fourth on the floor at 9.0 and sixth on the beam at 8.4. Junior Laura Hernandez had a great uneven bars routine with a score of 9.25. Huge congratulations to this team!
