One School, One Question and Summer Reading Information

The question for this year’s all-school read is: How can I make a difference? We’re asking all students to select one of five books that are connected to the question:

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai
Coach by Michael Lewis
Charlie Mike by Joe Klein
No Impact Man by Colin Beavan

We have copies of the books for sale for only $10 between now and the end of school. You can pick up a copy at any time in the library, or before school Wednesday or Thursday in the Wheeler lobby. We’ll also be taking a few copies down to Oak Hill and Brown, so 8th graders can pick up copies there later in the week.

We also ask all students to read two additional books. For rising freshmen, that is simply two books of the students’ own choosing, while upperclassemen sometimes have more specific requirements, depending on the class they enroll in. Students will receive that specific list in English classes later this week.
