It’s impossible to select just one Athlete of the Week from Girls Soccer, as everyone is working extremely hard and contributing to the success of the program at all three levels. Newly appointed Varsity Captains Chloe Frantzis, Maddy Yorke, Lily Riseberg, and Jordan Briney have led their teammates to a successful start to the 2017 season. The team has been bolstered by the return of juniors Maia Madison and Daphne Frantzis, both of whom missed the second half of the 2016 season with injuries. Super-scorers Audrey Lavey, Larissa Williams, and Lucy Jenks form an incredible attack trio, while India Blythe, Rosie McLeod, Cassie Lee, Adrianne Goodfriend, Ida Malvik, and Lotti McLeod shore up the midfield. The team’s defense is anchored by Dany LaCamera and Bella Ertel, who are working to fill the void created by the loss of Willa Frantzis with an injury. Varsity newcomers—goalkeepers Olivia Dubin, Masie Abbaiti, and Naomi Liftmen—are joined by strikers Amanda and Samantha Smith to form an outstanding group of players looking to defend the DCL Girls Soccer Championship in 2017.
