Senior Jack Landrigan will have a pivotal role this season on the Boys Cross Country team. A co-captain, Jack is one of the top runners on the team, and this fall will be his fourth and last Cross Country season at Newton South. Three weeks in to the season, Jack has proven that his preparation over the summer was beneficial—his hydration, nutrition, and physical stamina are all in check, and he has been executing his role as a captain who leads by example. Jack always listens first, respects his team and opponents, offers kind words of encouragement, and is willing to take full responsibility for the actions of his team. Cross Country points are scored by the top-five team runners crossing the finish line, and Jack is confident that his consistent training could place him comfortably in the top four. Excited to score for the team and to practice the role of leadership, Jack has the right attitude to mentor and motivate his team to a great final Cross Country season. Boys Cross Country will compete in the first home meet of the season against Westford on Wednesday, September 27, at Cold Spring Park in Newton.
