NSHS Marine Biology Students Fundraising for Water Filters to Help Puerto Rico

In response to the ongoing public health crises in Puerto Rico following the Hurricane Maria disaster, the students in B Block Global Marine Biology at South is fundraising in order to purchase much-needed water filters to be sent and distributed throughout affected areas of Puerto Rico.

Cash donations are appreciated, as well as checks made out to Newton South High School with “PRWater Filters” written on the memo line. Checks/cash should be brought to any of the house offices or to advisory teachers.  Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated, as lack of access to clean drinking water is an ongoing and critical public health concern in Puerto Rico.

The cost of one filter including shipping is $75. More information about where these filters will be sent and how they will be utilized can be found here.
