Under-the-Lights Games a Success

The games under the lights were a blast! Boys Soccer opened the week with a 1-0 win over Acton-Boxborough on Sunday night. The field Hockey team fought hard against Westford Academy on Monday night but came up short in a 0-2 defeat. The winner of the night was the team’s support of the American Heart Association. Spectators donated over $900 in lieu of admission. Thank you for your support!

The Lions Den filled up for Football on Friday night and Girl Varsity Soccer on Saturday night. The Football team defeated Boston Latin 43-14, and the Girls Soccer team won 4-1 against Brockton. Our whole community came together to celebrate, cheer, and show their school spirit. It was an exciting week for all of us. On Saturday night Mayor Fuller visited, sharing the spirit of Newton South athletes and fans.

Thank you to our students, teachers, coaches, and parents who supported our teams during Spirit Week and the games under the lights! Beyond playing our games, our teams did fundraising/work for the American Heart Association, Kicks for a Cure, and the Newton Community Farm. Our core values in action and our community having fun together are testaments to all the good work we are doing! We look forward seeing you at our games.
