Alpine Ski Season Off to a Great Start

The Alpine Ski season is off to a great start! The team had an awesome performance at last week’s Giant Slalom (GS) at Nashoba Valley. The team raced against six other schools, a total of 156 athletes, placing in the top 10 in both the boys and the girls divisions. Some highlights of the competition were: Sam Duffy (Varsity Boys) placed 9th; Saylor Flannery (Varsity Girls) placed 1st with the fastest time for boys and girls; Maddie Bray (Varsity Girls) placed 4th, and Charlotte Doran (Varsity Girls) placed 5th. On JV, Cole Tremaglio placed 3rd and Lexi Nelson finished 3rd.

This week the team had another great GS performance! The Girls team won, and the boys finished a strong 3rd. Sam Duffy placed 4th in the Boys Varsity division. Saylor Flannery finished 2nd, followed closely by Maddie Bray (3rd) in the Girls Varsity division. Other scorers in the top ten were Charlotte Doran and Ryan Landrigan. Lexi Nelson and Sabrina Smith finished in top ten in the Girls JV race. The team and its coaches are grateful to the parents who are helping with bus chaperoning and bringing snacks for the athletes. It has been noted by opponents how kind our skiers are toward each other and how supportive they are toward all competitors. Congratulations to the team and its coaches!
