On Tuesday, January 19, the South Deans hosted a student webinar during Flex Block (3:10PM – 3:55PM)
It was geared towards those who will be engaged in hybrid learning. During the webinar, the Deans reviewed basic changes to the building, as well as the implementation of safety precautions that students can expect during their in-person days.
If your student cannot attend, the deans will be sending out a recording afterward. We strongly encourage all students in Cohorts A, B and C to attend or to view the recording ahead of their return to the building.
The Deans will also be hosting a lunchtime Q & A session for students, on the same subject on Mon. January 25 from 12:20PM – 12:50PM. We will not be recording that session in order to maintain student privacy.
Links to the Zoom sessions for both the webinar and the Q&A will be in the school Schoology calendar, and students must log in with their NPS accounts to be admitted.
As always, students are encouraged to contact their counselors and/or deans if they have personal questions regarding their transition to HyFlex learning.
Good Evening Students and Families,
Please see this important letter regarding second semester schedules and a form to fill out if you are requesting a move to distance learning as we begin the hyflex model on 1/28.
Thanks, Chris Hardiman
NSHS Interim Vice Principal
Hello Newton South Families,
We really enjoyed meeting with many of our students on Monday for an optional informational session on hyflex. If your Newton South student was unable to attend, we would highly recommend that they view the slides and/or listen to the session recording prior to coming into the building. You may also find it valuable to watch this presentation alongside them to find out more about our hyflex safety precautions and to get a sense of what your student’s day will be like.
We are also holding an optional Student Q & A Session during lunch on Monday, January 25, from 12:20 – 12:55; your student may also find it helpful to attend this. All students can get the Zoom link for this in their Schoology calendars. As always, we welcome one-on-one conversations with any of our students whenever they would be helpful. Please encourage them to reach out!
We are so excited to begin this next chapter with your child!
All the best,
Marc Banks, Goldrick House Dean
Josepha Blocker, Cutler House Dean
Meaghan Martin, Wheeler House Dean
Charlie Myette, Goodwin House Dean
