Local police officers will teach basic self-defense techniques in a fun and exciting hands-on training course, Saturdays, May 4, 11, & 18 at 1–4PM for boys in the Newton South High School small (B) gym. Students must attend all three sessions to complete the program. There is no charge for this program. There are also a few spaces left in the girls RAD program (self defense and rape aggression defense program) which meets 9 AM – 12 PM. Police urge senior students to become trained in these self-defense techniques before heading off to college. Please sign up with Sergeant Spalding, Newton Police Dept., by completing this online registration form, and the appropriate waiver form (GIRLS consent, BOYS consent). These sessions are sponsored by the Lily Konowitz Foundation and Newton South PTSO. If you have any questions, please e-mail Nancy Mann or Sergeant Spalding.
