The PSAT will be given at Newton South High School on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Newton South students who are members of the Class of 2015 and the Class of 2016 are eligible to take the exam. Home-schooled students who live in the South district may also register for the exam. Students from other schools/school districts must take the exam at their own school. There is no make-up date for the PSAT.
An exam has been ordered for every member of the Class of 2015. Additional exams have been ordered for members of the Class of 2016, but there are not enough to allow each sophomore to test. Registration for sophomores is on a first come, first served basis. However, we have never run out of exams in the past for those sophomores who wish to test.
There is no makeup date for the PSAT. Please contact Maimonides School (617-232-4452) as soon as possible for information on testing options for students that cannot test on October 19 for religious reasons. A written note from a clergy person indicating that the student will be attending a regular religious service that day is required.
Students who need to test with accommodations, such as extended time, may do so only if they have been approved by the College Board’s Office of Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) and if they have been assigned an SSD number. Please contact Marion Rouse at 617-559-6587 or your child’s counselor for more information. Students that have approved accommodations must bring a copy of their College Board letter with their SSD number to registration.
Registration will be held in Wheeler Commons during J block on September 9, 11, and 12. The cost of the exam is $30. This fee must be paid by either cash or check. The check must be made out to Newton South High School with “PSAT” and student’s FULL name on the MEMO line. Additional information will be available during Advisory in September and on the Newton South High School website. If you have any questions, please contact Jennifer Dolan.
