NewtonServes at South – Volunteer Opportunity, Sun., Apr. 27, 12:30-3:30PM

Community Service Alert: Don’t miss this easy, fun, and eventful way to boost your college résumé and beautify your school grounds at the same time. We’re looking for 60-80 PARENT and STUDENT volunteers to come to NSHS on Sunday, April 27, from 12:30-3:30PM to complete our outdoor projects. We will: spread mulch in our front and courtyard gardens, weed, pick-up trash around all school grounds, and plant perennials so our courtyard looks amazing. We will create and beautify new outdoor space initiated by the global community classes, including raising and setting an impressive kiosk built by the global community classes (that will be used to inform the community of the nearby wetlands) and create a new walking path behind our school surrounding the rock mound.

We cannot do these projects without YOU! But that’s not all – there’s more: we’ll have your taste buds and appetite covered too! We’ll have Dunkin Donuts, pizza, bottled water, snack bars, fruit, and the official 2014 NewtonServes t-shirts at South. After we’re done, Cabot’s is providing make-your-own ice cream sundaes with all the fixings to all volunteers at City Hall. To sign up, email us at and we’ll give you all the details!
