Many thanks to the 68 parent attendees, 22 parent hosts, and 10 Newton South staff, who came together last night for a fabulous evening of fun and friendship! Liz Hiser and Charlie Hoban hosted all 100 guests at their beautiful home for appetizers, then everyone went off to 10 different homes where they feasted on fabulous meals, and finally everyone came back together at the Newton South Library for decadent desserts and a chance to see the amazing renovation completed by the first Success@South fundraising campaign.
The home hosts and fabulous cooks were: Tristan & Andy Binns, Rose & David Day, Tamar & Jonathan Duke-Cohan, Belle Halpern & Mitch Rosenberg, Carrie & Shervin Hawley, Jane & Joel Hirshhorn, Susan Katcher & Brad White, Genia Long & Seth Jaffe, Carie & David Michael, Andrea & John Nadai, and Bridget Reischer & Jim Harburger. A special shout out to Susan Katcher who organized the dinner with incredible attention to detail and to our Fundraising Committee who made it possible for Success@South to live up to its name: Betsy Blagdon, Liz Hiser, Susan Katcher, Lori Lass, Emily Prenner and Chris Steele. If you missed the dinner and Mr. Stembridge’s big announcement, watch the newsletter for more information about this year’s Success@South theme: helping to outfit a new STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) Learning Lab to be used by the recently announced DaVinci program, as well as many other lab-based classes/initiatives at South. Stay tuned for more information!
If you had a great time, please consider helping with next year’s Community Dinner! We’ll need dinner hosts and a planning community. Please help us continue this successful event by emailing Betsy and Emily and firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for your support!
