The October 17th edition of The Lion’s Roar (one of two published by Newton South students), had an article entitled “Misconceptions” by Nathaniel Bolter and Parisa Siddiqui. This article talks about the High School Stabilization Program (HSP), often referred to by the students as “the shed”. The article discusses how HSP is one of several learning environments available to students, beyond regular classes. Other options include Compass, Springboard, Connections, CORE, STEP, Academic Support, the Learning Program, and Southside. Click here for a brief description of each. The NSHS PTSO supports these programs with annual funding.
