The 2015 Wrestling Team consisted of 24 members with varying levels of experience. The team finished with a 6-12 overall record and 3-6 DCL record. The one thing the team did not do this year is “back down” to competition. This year’s schedule was tough, with Newton South at the same competitions with 10 out of the top 25 teams in the state. The team attended a one-day tournament in Methuen that had some of the top teams from five states represented. The philosophy of the program is “if you want to be the best, you have to compete against the best.” The team’s senior leaders were Zach Nislick (captain), AJ Josephson (captain), Liam Brandel, Jacob Lenson, Haggay Vardi, and Dan Horta-Sohmer. Next year’s team is looking strong with returnees Gabe Betencourt, Jeff Vardi, Mike Lee, Zach Doherty-Smith and a large group of young, talented wrestlers.
