Anthony DeNitto, a junior, represents an athlete that is driven to see his team succeed. Anthony is the Boys Indoor Track team’s decathlete. He possesses skills in the Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put, and also 55M Hurdle dash event that can earn him a place at state D1 standards. Anthony spent most of the season rehabbing a sports injury from football season. The team assumed Anthony’s indoor track season would be as a non-compete member. However, during this time, he made himself useful to the team by helping to coach the field events, support his teammates at meets, and also gradually rebuilding his strength, coordination, and endurance to return to athletic status. Anthony was determined to compete…and that he did. He made the sacrifice of time for his team and was committed to competing. Scoring big in three events during the season-ending championship track meet was also appreciated by his teammates. Anthony is in tune with his body and knows his rehabilitative limits. His example of perseverance has given his team the confidence to push through any adversity. Congratulations, Anthony!
