Newton North & South Jazz Benefit Fri., Feb. 26 from 6-10PM

Newton North and South Jazz Ensembles will perform a benefit concert on Friday, February 26 from 6-10PM at Union Street in Newton Centre.

Proceeds from this concert will help defray the cost of travel for two great causes: The Newton North and South Jazz Ensemble New Orleans educational experience and The Mass Nine for the 9th service trip to rebuild homes in New Orleans.

The cover charge for this event will be $25 per person. Tickets may be purchased online through this link. Please bring your friends out for a great evening of live music and to support these two important endeavors!

The Newton North and South Jazz Ensemble educational experience provides students the opportunity to perform for and with New Orleans students and professionals. These high school musicians will gain first hand experience of the style and flavor of New Orleans, the birthplace of American jazz.

Mass Nine for the 9th, a collaborative group of carpentry instructors and students originating out of the Newton Public School Innovation Lab travel to New Orleans each year to rebuild houses in Ward 9 that were devastated by Hurricane Katrina.  Check out their website:
