Last weekend South hosted several sports events. Our athletes competed with grit and poise. Thank you to the families who helped make the games under the lights possible! Our athletes were delighted to play at night. And a big shout-out to the Booster Club! Booster Club volunteers were present at all of the weekend games, selling food and Spirit Gear. Reach out to them, lend a hand, and offer your support! Their efforts benefit all athletes at South.
- Football: The Football team faced a strong opponent in Chelmsford High School without giving up. The outcome was not what they’d hoped for, but the team played hard until the end, scoring two touchdowns against a powerful opponent. The team will travel to Woburn High School tonight (Friday, November 3) for their second post-season game, at Woburn High School at 7pm.
- Boys Soccer: On Saturday the Boys JV and Varsity Soccer teams played under the lights against Newton North. Our teams finished their season and honored the seniors during a hard-fought game.
- Girls Soccer: Sunday afternoon brought us another great game under the lights! Both the Girls JV and Varsity Soccer teams faced Acton-Boxborough. Our Varsity team defeated A-B 2-1 to earn back-to-back DCL titles! Our JV team tied 0-0. The Varsity team received seed #2 at the Division 1 South Sectional tournament. If Wellesley wins, we’ll play on Saturday, November 4, at 2:30pm. If Durfee wins, we’ll play on Sunday, November 5, at 2pm. Both games will be at South.
