As we start the 2022-23 school year, we invite you to get involved with the PTSO. The PTSO will continue to work with South Administration and staff to communicate information in a timely manner, help support and engage our community for input and ideas, and to stay connected. The Newton South PTSO is the Parent Teacher Student Organization supporting Newton South High School (NSHS). We invite you to join us at our events throughout the year to socialize, volunteer, and learn as you connect with other parents and guardians.
Our mission is to foster and build community, support teachers, communicate with everyone, and we raise funds to support these activities. All parents/guardians, students and faculty at NSHS are members of the PTSO. We have more than a dozen volunteer committees to support the school and welcome everyone’s participation at whatever level is comfortable. Click to learn more about volunteer committees.
Our annual PTSO Budget $66,000 is needed to support our teacher and student activities. We appreciate any amount that our members are able to contribute toward our Annual Dues Campaign so we can provide:
- $30,000 to support enrichment programs & supplies in all NSHS departments;
- $9,300 for staff and student support and appreciation;
- $16,600 for SouthFest – a senior celebration
- $4,500 for our School Directory, video conference, website, and communications;
- $4000 for administrative, merchant fees and legal expenses.
