Get your SPIRIT GEAR!

LOOKING FOR SPIRIT GEAR?  Most of the inventory is inaccessible in the school, but I happen to have lots of Newton South socks (orange and blue with a lion – $12), baseball hats (trucker hats are $20 or canvas hats are $15), and lanyards at my house.  I do have one box with a few pairs each of T-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, jogger pants, 1/4 zip pullovers, and sweatshirt blankets.  If you want to place an order, email the details of your order to Wendy Woodruff at [email protected], and I can let you know if I have it.

Wrestling NEW ENGLAND QUALIFIERS!

We have Wrestling. NEW ENGLAND QUALIFIERS! Adam Bernhardt made the finals of All-States and placed 2nd. This will put him in an excellent position to next week’s New England Championships being held at Methuen High School. Phillip Amaitan placed 8th and has qualified as an alternate for the NE tournament. He will not continue though due to a knee injury. Phillip was very courageous this past weekend wrestling in severe pain the entire time but managed to pin two state ranked kids. Claire Caldicott entered the 2nd annual Girls State Championships with a vision of trying to capture a state title. She pinned her first opponent but then ran into a tough freshman in the semi final. She rebounded by beating the wrestler from Canton who she lost to last year. Claire finished the day with a 4th place finish. Claire and Adam are the Outstanding Wrestlers of The Tournaments.

Tove Goldstone completed the US Equestrian Athlete Lettering program

Congratulations to Tove Goldstone who recently completed the US Equestrian Athlete Lettering program. This program was developed to provide recognition for the accomplishments of young equestrians and encourage their future involvement in equestrian sport. US Equestrian recognizes the dedication of equestrians preparing for competition through practice and training sessions as similar to other students in athletic programs and developed this program to honor individual achievements with a varsity letter in the student’s chosen sport, regardless of the availability of an equestrian team or club through their school. Participants in the program must be students in grades 5-12 who document at least 100 hours of training or provide verification of participation in three equestrian competitions during the year. After completing these requirements and verification, the student will receive a certificate commemorating their achievements, a varsity letterman patch and/or lapel pin for each year of participation.
