Donations for Newton South Booster Club Community Yard Sale this Spring

We need your donations for Newton South Booster Club Community Yard Sale this Spring!  As you do your spring cleaning this year, please consider saving some items for donation to the Booster Club community yard sale scheduled for the first 2 weekends in May.  We will start collecting items in the middle of April.  We hope to raise several thousand dollars for South teams thanks to your donated items!

The City is in the process of updating it’s Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP), and has asked for public input. This is an important opportunity to weigh in and let city officials know if you’d like to see improved athletic fields. The survey takes about 5-10 minutes. You can access the survey here and must fill it out by February 13th. It takes about 5-10 minutes. 

The Help Light the Way Gala

The Help Light the Way Gala will be on March 28, 2020.  This event will raise funds to purchase and install permanent lights for the outdoor sports stadium at Newton South High School.

We hope you will join us! The night will include a silent and live auction, as well as lots of raffles. We need your help to make this a successful event!

Baseball information meeting on Feb. 10th at 3:30PM

Students interested in trying out for Baseball, there will be an info meeting on Monday, Feb. 10th at 3:30 PM in the FIeld House.  Coach Aiena will be there.

Information meeting for Girls Tennis

An info meeting for Girls Tennis will be on Monday, Feb. 10th at 3:30 PM in the Wellness classroom.  Coach Jampol will be there.  Anyone interested in trying out should attend.

8th grade Sports Night will be on March 11th at 6:30 PM

8th grade Sports Night will be on March 11th at 6:30 PM in the NSHS Field House.  The evening will focus on the athletic options at Newton South and an opportunity to meet coaches and athletes from all of our teams.

wrestling results

The wrestling team has some solid results recently.  They scored team wins over Duxbury and Everett.  Phillip Amitan, Mark Nazzaro, Nick Kadiyala, and Adam Bernhardt have all been chosen as outstanding wrestler of the match recently.  Akiva Lind and Adam Bernhardt have also reached the 20 win mark this season.

Boys gymnastic competing on February 7

The boys gymnastic team will compete today, Friday February 7 at the State championship. The event will take place at Newton North at spectators can enter at 5:30 PM. Admission is charged for this event, Adults $7 students $5.

Girls gymnastics

Our Girls gymnastics team won the DCL championship on Wednesday afternoon. The team is now preparing for the North Sectionals that will take place on Saturday, Feb. 22. Congratulations team!

Boys swimming and Diving

Boys swimming and Diving: The MIAA announced that Newton South High School will be awarded the 2020 Winter North Division I Boys Swimming & Diving Sportsmanship Award.  Presentation and recognition for this achievement will take place before the Boys North Meet @ MIT on Sunday, February 9th at 4:10 pm.
