Family Outreach: One to One Mentoring

Newton’s One-to-One Program, our very own “big brother/sister program” has been matching wonderful high schoolers with children in grades one through five for over 40 years.  If you think your elementary-aged child would benefit from a mentor in their life and you can commit 2 hours each week to have your child meet with a high school mentor from November to May – you should contact us.

Newton Youth Hockey – Learn to Play Program

The Learn to Play program is an introduction to hockey for boys and girls aged 5 through 10. Participants follow a progression of drills designed to teach them the core hockey skills of skating, stick handling, passing, and shooting. We place a strong emphasis on having fun, using a variety of games, challenges, and scrimmages as key components of the program. Participants skate twice per week (once on Saturday and once on Sunday). One day is structured around skills progression while the other day is dedicated to scrimmages. This is a 16-week program that begins in mid-November and ends in mid-March.

Saturdays at Ryan Arena, Watertown: 9:20-10:10 or 10:20-11:10 (groups split by age)
