Reminder – Special Schedule on Thurs, Feb 6th

Thursday, February 6, 2020: Professional Development Day Special Schedule

Note: Blocks Meeting on Special Schedule Days in Term III are subject to adjustment depending on the impact of Snow Days.

Buses depart at 11:00 am.

Cafeteria: Breakfast will be served as usual

Senior Parent Coffee, Fri. Feb 7th at 7:45AM

All parents/guardians of current SENIORS are invited to join us for coffee on Friday, February 7th from 7:45-9AM in the Teacher/Faculty Lounge. 

House Deans, Director and members of the guidance staff  and class advisers will join us to share information about rest of the year and answer questions. Refreshments will be served. Please feel free to come for whatever time fits your schedule.

Parent Volunteers Needed for Student Appreciation on Thur. Feb 13th at 2:15PM

Happy Valentines Day, Happy Winter Break!

The PTSO needs 4 volunteers on Thursday, February 13th from 2:15 to 3:30PM to help distribute carnations to students.   The PTSO provides for surprise student appreciation events throughout the year.  If you are able to help out on this event, please email Lisa Danetz or May Chiu at info@newtonsouthPTSO.org.

MCAS Special Schedule Tues, Feb 11th

Please note the MCAS special schedule for Tuesday, February 11th. 

Freshmen will be starting school at 7:40am.  Sophomore, Juniors and Seniors have late arrival at 10:05AM.

Save-the-Date All Grade Parent Socials Fri, Feb 28th at 7:45AM

The PTSO will be hosting 2 sessions for an All Grade Parent/Guardian Socials on:

  • Friday, February 28th from 7:45-9AM at Newton South Teacher/Faculty Lounge.
  • Tuesday, March 3rd from 7:30-9:30PM at 111 Lincoln St, Newton MA 02461

Please drop in when it’s convenient for you.  These informal social are an opportunity for our South parent community to meet as parents to ask questions, discuss issues, and get to know each other.  We have no set agenda, other than socializing and checking in with each other on how South Parents/Children are navigating our high school experience at South.  Parents are welcome to come late or leave early to fit their schedules.
