Adaptive Dance Program – Dance Academy in Newton

The Dance Academy in Newton has recently launched an amazing new adaptive dance program for kids with developmental delays, ASD, Down Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder, and other learning disabilities. We have a class for ages 1.5-5 and a class for ages 6-10 starting this January! Attached is a flyer about the program and there is more info on our websitehere. Ski Vermont Fifth Grade Passport

Ski Vermont is a program provided by the Vermont Ski Areas Association that enables 5th graders to get free lift tickets to Vermont ski resorts is being expanded this year to 6th graders, as well.

Ski Vermont 5th Grade Passport for the 21/22 season is now available for purchase. Ski Vermont will be extending the Fifth Grade Passport for the 2021-2022 season to Sixth Graders since we were unable to offer the program last winter due to COVID restrictions. Proof of grade is required for all participants. 

Starting this year all Ski Vermont Fifth Grade Passports will be issued digitally and sold through Ski Vermont’s Pass Portal. No physical product will be mailed. All applications will be reviewed and approved before a passport can be issued. Approval takes approximately 2-3 business days (processing M-F).

Newton Youth Lacrosse is dedicated to providing Newton boys and their families a community based developmental lacrosse program.  We encourage boys at all ages, regardless of experience, to join the program and learn lacrosse while meeting new friends, being active and competing.  

The program delivers a fun, safe and inclusive youth sport environment.

TEAMS

Our program offers ‘Classic’ teams for grades 1-8 that will play against surrounding towns.  As the season gets a bit closer to starting, we will also offer additional select team opportunities for boys in grades 5-8.

Games are played on Sundays typically beginning in early April for grades 3-8 (grades 1-2 typically start games a 2-3 weeks later)

Newton Girls Lacrosse – registration now open!

Spring 2022 Season:

Grades 3/4, 5/6, 7/8

  • Practices: plan on practicing on Mondays and Wednesdays at Weeks Field from 6-7 pm April 4 through April 20; then from 6-7:15pm from April 25 through June 8
  • Optional practices during April break and no practice on Memorial Day
  • Indoor March practices at the Edge in Bedford (for grades 3/4: 3/23, 3/27 and 3/28; for grades 5/6: 3/21, 3/28, 3/29; for grades 7/8: 3/21, 3/28, 3/29
  • Games will be on Sundays from mid-morning through late afternoon (dates include: 4/3, 4/10, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22, 6/5, 6/12)
  • Registration deadline: 1/4/22
  • Cost (grades 3/4: $200; grades 5/6 and 7/8: $220; financial assistance is available)

Grades 1/2

  • Practices: plan on practicing on Wednesdays at Weeks Field from 6-7 pm and on Sunday mornings from April 6 through June 8
  • Optional practices during April break and no practice on Memorial Day

Winter Clinic:WInter clinic will be offered on Sundays (1/9, 1/23, 1/30, 2/6, 2/13, and 2/27) at the Edge in Bedford; grades 1-4 from 10-11am; grades 5-8 from 11-12pm; cost $120 (financial assistance is available)

Newton South Indoor Lacrosse Clinic

Get ready for spring with a winter lacrosse clinic run by Newton South! A great way to build skills and have some winter fun at a great price. Open to grades 4-8, the sessions are run by Newton South coaches and upper-class team members. Proceeds support the NSHS Lacrosse team. Sign up today!

Newton Youth Lacrosse Registration

Spring 2022 Registration is NOW OPEN for NEWTON YOUTH LACROSSE, available to boys in grades 1 – 8 who live in Newton or attend a school in Newton.  This program gives the players an opportunity to learn the game of lacrosse while having a great time doing it.  At all times, we promote good sportsmanship and mentorship within the different grade levels to provide a healthy environment to learn.  Further, we attempt evenly balanced teams, equal playing time, and welcome NEW players at any time along the way.  Learn more at www.newtonyouthlacrosse.com or Register Here.

Middle School Hockey – registration now open

Newton Youth Hockey has opened registration for its Co-ed Middle School Hockey program. These are games-only teams open to any Newton resident in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. Participants do not need to attend a Newton school, nor do they need to be current Newton Youth Hockey players. Games are played on weekend evenings, and the season runs from December to February.
