FroshPlay Starts Mon, Sept 21 @4-6PM

Welcome, Freshmen!
Frosh Play starts Sept 21, Monday-Friday, 4-6 PM
Connection Building, Drama Games, Scene Readings

Zoom link and password here.
You must be signed in with your Newton Google account to see it.

Come when you can; stay as long as you can!

FAQs here!

The primary goal of the Frosh Play is to introduce freshmen to high school theatre and help them make connections with each other and with the school community.  We take everyone who shows up during that first week of virtual rehearsals.  Because we don’t know the numbers or the genders of our actors before that first week, we find a number of potential 10-minute plays, and then cast at the end of the first week.

No classes on 9/25 and 10/2

1. There will be NO classes on Friday, 9/25. Instead, there will be a virtual “live” club fair for students during this day. This event will give all students, and especially our ninth graders and new students, an opportunity to connect with peers and build community–important components of promoting social emotional learning. For students that are unable to participate in the day for whatever reason, we will ask clubs to record short videos that can be housed on the clubs page of the South website for students to see at any time, describing their club and a sign up process.

2.  There will be NO classes on Friday, 10/2. On that day, all students will be provided time slots throughout the day to sign up to come to South to pick up all of their materials. South staff will assist with the distribution process. We will also offer a nighttime pickup for families that can’t come during the day and the possibility of delivery of materials to any families where it is a particular hardship for them to get to South. More information on this part of the process, including how to sign up, will be forthcoming.
