When you log into Pick a Time (using this link), click on the Printable schedule link on the top of the page. This will give you a list of your appointments. The Room column has the Zoom links you will need for this afternoon and Wednesday, December 8.
If you have any issues with individual Zoom links at the time of your meeting, please reach out to the individual teacher, as they will be best positioned to assist you. If a Zoom link is missing from your list, please reply to this email and let us know so we can look into it.

All seniors in the Class of 2022 are encouraged to apply for the Newton South Local Scholarships
Local scholarships are awarded through Newton South High School and through the generosity of individual and business donors, community organizations and memorial funds.
The application is brief and includes the submission of a reference from someone outside Newton South High School. The application is available beginning on December 1, 2021 and the deadline to apply is January 31, 2022.
Based on the criteria of each scholarship, recipients will be selected and notified. While some scholarship awards are announced in March/April,. Most will be received in early June.
Look for an email on Wednesday Dec 1st with the links to apply.

Dear Newton South Families:
The English department is looking for a substitute teacher to cover two sophomore English classes for a teacher on medical leave starting as soon as possible through Thursday, December 23.
While we recognize that this request is unconventional, we have exhausted other means to hire a substitute. If you or anyone you know is qualified and interested, please email Brian Baron at baronb@newton.k12.ma.us.
The time commitments are as follows:
Monday 11:45 AM – 1:25 PM
Tuesday 1:25 PM – 2:30 PM
Wednesday 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM
Thursday 11:40 AM – 1:30 PM
Friday 9:00 AM – 10:15 AM, 2:30 PM – 3:45 PM

Phase 2 of Parent Teacher Conference signups begin tonight at 7 PM. For this phase, you can sign up for an additional 3 appointments per child for a total of 6. This phase will close at noon on Wednesday, December 1.

The school grounds have been an increasing problem for the city, our neighbors and other students at Newton South. The PTSO will be organizing a week of trash clean up. If you or your club is interested in volunteering for clean up please complete the form and we will reach out to organize your day(s). Principal Stras will sign off on any community hours you have served.
Please select a valid formThe Newton South math team had its second meet in the Greater Boston Math League and did extremely well. Three team members (Vivek Vallurupalli, Ethan Pang & Elena Baskakova) got a perfect score and a few others were almost perfect. Both Sines and Cosines earned a perfect score in the Team Round.
Students trained hard to get prepared for the meet and the captains did an amazing job running team practices. It is so nice to see all these efforts reflected in the team’s score. Congrats to all the team members, the captains and the math team advisor, Mr. Petrizzi!
As a reminder, the first virtual practice of the Massachusetts ARML team is on Sunday, November 28, and the next two will be on December 11 and 12. If you are interested in ARML, please reach out to Mr. Olson.
